Beer is a pretty accessible drink, right?

Long gone are the days of prohibition, with a quick trip to the pub or shop all you need in order to acquire the Devil’s nectar.

But, until now, producing frosty suds from home has proven quite a challenge.

That could all be about to change with the world’s first automated home brewery – known creatively as Brewie – now available to order after a number of successful crowdfunding campaigns.

The device handles everything during the brewing process, completing steps like mashing, sparging, boiling, hop addition, and cooling once you’ve tailored your ingredients and method. Or you can select a recipe from a menu of hundreds of pre-installed options.

To ensure the world of home brewing remains personalised, Brewie is capable of adjusting 23 components during the process. And if you come across or develop a recipe that you’re particularly proud of, you can submit your delicious creation to Brewie’s online recipe database.

Once you’ve set the timer for your home brew, you can monitor the process through the companion app on a mobile device or from your desktop.

The Brewie is currently available to pre-order for a cool $1,849 – around £1,390 in the Queen’s coin – with shipments available around the world for a range of prices.

So, if you do the maths, that’s only like 350-400 pints you have to hold off from buying until you save enough to afford the Brewie.
